The STOP stakeholder engagement process is an integral component of the four-year project. One of the main aims of this process is to recommend to national authorities and the European Commission a sustainability plan for future stakeholder engagement in the area of childhood obesity. To this end, we would like to better understand stakeholders’ views and positions and get feedback on the project processes and outcomes.
Over 180 organisations had already shared their views, standpoints and concerns with us through the STOP stakeholder web survey at the beginning of 2019. This conference was an opportunity to gain access to the results and insights from the questionnaire, which was shared and discussed. More than 90 participants registered for the conference.
The Brussels 2019 STOP stakeholders conference is the first part of the STOP stakeholders engagement process, followed by three more stakeholder conferences. During the stakeholder dialogues in the coming years, participants will have the opportunity to discuss topics, policies and measures related to childhood obesity and thus from different backgrounds contribute to identifying possible policy solutions and reflect on the work of the STOP project.
